Newsletter

Dear Campers,

I feel that the opening paragraph for our newsletter sets the mood for its contents. All I can think of this year is three words that I saw on a plaque as I was Christmas shopping. Those three words are "Live Laugh Love". I was so drawn to those words that I had to buy that plaque and bring it home and hang it in my kitchen. One by one my family and friends starting noticing it. They asked me if that was new and I would answer, yes, this is my motto for life! I wish the same for you.

Following is a rate schedule for the 2008 season. We have increased our seasonal rates by $50.00 and the daily rates by $2.00. The dumping fee for the year is $75.00 or $8.00 per dump.

Seasonal Daily Weekly Monthly
30 amp/water $1155 $30 $180 $425
30 amp/extra large/water $1480 $32 $192 $465
30 amp/sewer/water $1250 $35 $210 $485
30/50 amp/extra large/sewer/water $1585 $35 $210 $485

Our daily and weekly rates are based on 4 people in the family. A family consists of husband, wife and unmarried children. We charge $1 per person per night extra for a family of more than 4 people. We only allow one family per site.

We would like your seasonal rate plus dumping in full by May 3, 2008. However, if it is easier for you, one half of your rate plus the dumping fee will be due by May 3, 2008 and the second half of the rate would be due by July 1, 2008. If you do not comply with this payment schedule, your trailer will be removed from the site and stored on the premises until it is paid. If you decide not to camp this year, a storage fee of $20 per month will be due before you remove your trailer. This policy will apply to everyone. No exceptions will be made. We do not accept any post dated checks. We do accept Visa, Master Card and Discover. All bounced checks will be charged a fee of $25.00.

If our season campers want to register their married children for the season, they may do so for $15 per person. This entitles them to visit at any time and use the pool with no additional fee. This does not mean they can pitch a tent or bring in a trailer to camp. If they stay in your trailer with you occasionally, that is okay.

Excess Garbage and Barking Dogs caused problems last year. The only garbage that should be going in our dumpsters is that which is created at camp. Don't bring your garbage from home. Take other articles that you don't want home with you to dispose of. Also, if you want to leave a refrigerator, there is a $10 fee to dispose of it. Please don't leave camp and leave your dog barking while you are gone. It is very irritating to listen to. Please clean up after you dogs.

The season campers are responsible to mow their own yard and keep their campsite neat and clean. Please do not have items unrelated to camping stored at your site. If you would like your site mowed for you each week, contact Derrick.

Our visitor fees are $2.00 per car and that car must go in our parking area. Please do not park on empty sites, in the field or the orchards. If your visitors decide to pitch a tent or sleep in their car, we charge $25 per night for 4 people and $1.00 per person over four people. It is $2.00 per person per night to stay in your trailer.

Our swimming pool will open Memorial Day weekend and close after Labor Day weekend. There is no charge for our campers. Visitor's fee is $1.00 per person per day. Our hours are 10-12am, 1-5 pm, and 6-8pm. We are open weekends only until school gets out. After school gets out, our pool is open seven days a week. We have a lifeguard on duty at all times. Please observe our pool rules.

Golf carts need to have proof of insurance when you come into camp. The golf cart is to be driven by the owner only and must have a driver's license and be 18 years of age or older. If our campers drive recklessly and do not follow the rules, we will be asking you to remove the golf cart from the premises. No golf carts are to be driven after 11 pm.

Our pizza stand will be open our first weekend. Hours will be Friday 5-7 and 9-10. Saturday it is open 12-1, 5-6 and 9-10. Sunday breakfast is from 8-10, lunch 12-12:30, and supper 5-5:30. During the week we will be open on request, for pizza only, with an hours notice. Check at the rec hall.

Hayrides are given on Saturday and Sunday mornings around 11am. Miniature golf is $1.00 for nine holes. Paddleboats are $3.00 per half hour and you must wear a lifejacket which we provide. Emily will be preparing her "fried dough` and funnel cakes again this season. You also will be able to do Emily's Pottery in the rec hall whenever you like during the summer.

Quiet hour is 11 pm-9 am. All visitors must be out of the park by 11 pm. All children are to be at their own site by 10pm.

To make reservations call the office between 9am and 9pm at 315-946-4436. We do have a web site at norwincampsite.com. 911 is available in our area. A pay phone is available outside our office 24 hr. a day. Our e-mail address is norwind2@aol.com.

When the office is closed, Servy and Linda are at the doublewide at the end of the office building. Derrick and Emily are at the house on top of the hill.

Everyone seemed to like our prize drawing last year, so we will have it again. Everyone that comes in the office to register, give me their golf cart certificate and pay their camping fee in full by 5 pm May 2, will get to put their name in a bucket. We will draw a name from the bucket at bingo that night and the winner will get $500 cash!! If you can't be at camp that weekend, and you qualify, I will put your name in the bucket! You don't need to be present to win! Happy Camping!

Sincerely,

The DeWinds
